The Florence
Township Police Department, established in 1872, is a twenty-five
officer force whose duty is to protect the property and well being
of those who live, work and visit here. Continuous police protection
is provided on a twenty-four hour basis, seven days a week. One of
five communications operators staffs the dispatch center that is operational
24 hours a day. Enhanced 911 services are in place to ensure effective
emergency reporting for police, fire and emergency services. The department
is in touch with the times in the areas of computerization, communications
and training.
