Detective
Bureau
The Florence
Township Police Department - Detective Bureau is assigned to investigate,
apprehend and arrest a person or persons who violate the New Jersey
Criminal Code. The Bureau’s responsibilities include the investigation
of all major crimes committed within the jurisdiction of Florence
Township along with all major narcotics investigative efforts.
The Bureau
is also assigned to conduct limited background investigations related
to individuals that file applications to obtain a New Jersey Firearms
Identification Card or Handgun Purchase Permits.
The Bureau
is also responsible for limited background investigations conducted
on persons who seek liquor licenses.
The Detective
Bureau assists and coordinates investigative efforts with the Department’s
Traffic Safety Unit, Fire Investigation Unit and Evidence Technicians.
The Detective
Bureau is currently manned by two (2) full time detectives who are
supervised by Alvin Scully, Chief Law Enforcement Officer.
