PERMITS
Anyone interested
in applying for any firearms permits may obtain the necessary applications
at the police dispatch desk. You must be at least 18 years old for
all permits except that you must be at least 21 years old to obtain
a permit to purchase a handgun.
If you have
never applied for a firearm permit before, it will probably take about
three months to complete the process. This is typically the length
of time it takes the Federal Bureau of Investigations to process your
fingerprints. If you have already received either a Permit to Purchase
a Handgun or a Firearms Purchaser I.D. Card, it should take about
a month.
