On Saturday, July 8th Florence Township’s annual patriotic celebration will hit the streets of the town!  Our annual event is a special celebration honoring both active and veteran members of the United States Military for their dedication, service and sacrifices for our country.  We begin our celebration with a flag raising ceremony observing all that have served followed by a parade which includes veterans groups, recreation & civic organizations, houses of worship, local businesses, classic cars and much more.  This year in celebration of their 100th Anniversary as a business in our community, Clark & Carolann Boyd (Boyd’s Pharmacy) will serve as Grand Marshals.

Our evening activities will take place at our municipal complex, where the parking lot will be filled with food & dessert vendors, a face painter, light up booth and treats by some of our local organizations.  Yes, the crowd favorite “Bacon Bread” will be served by the Florence Township Pit Club and recreation football and cheer programs.  The fireworks display will cap off our evening while live musical performances and an exciting light display fills the air.

If you are interested in participating in this years parade, please click on the attached form and once completed, submit to the Florence Township Recreation Department.  It may be mailed, dropped off at our Clerk’s Department Window or Overnight Drop Box.  You may also scan and email to recreation@florence-nj.gov.  This is our big event of the summer so shine up your classic car.  If you’ve served, please consider joining our veterans organizations or place a car in the parade honoring the veteran in your family.  Sports, civic and local business groups, please join us with your decorated cars, truck & trailers and join in the fun with your community.  Question?  Please email any time!
