As Mayor, I’ve been so honored to not only meet all of our local Webelos, but also to help them earn 2 requirements for their “Building a Better World Achievement” towards their “Arrow of Light” badge, which is the highest honor for the Cub Scouts.
The first requirement was Meeting a Government Leader, which we did back in February. We met in Council Chambers and talked about our Township and what the various duties are for the Mayor and Council. They loved calling the meeting to order and banging the gavel.
Their second requirement was Learning About Energy Use in Your Community and How To Improve It. This week we met with Webelos Gavin, David, and Noah along with a Wolf, Michael under our own solar array to talk about how solar works on someone’s home. (Plus they got to play with a couple of fun greyhounds). What a pleasure it has been to meet these young people and to learn about their aspirations. I can’t wait to see them crossover into Boy Scouts at the Blue and Gold Banquet on April 20th.
