Welcome to the Florence Township Community Gardens

In 2017, Florence Township repurposed a parcel of land on the west end of town to create a community garden for residents to enjoy.  18 planting sections were designed so that individuals or families could plant fruits, vegetables or flowers during the annual growing seasons.  The gardens offer the opportunity not only to grow your own products but to serve as a gathering place for residents.  This positive addition to our town has culminated in several rotating in to managing plots and sharing as well as donating items that have been grown.  It has invited support by our local Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops.  It’s success had prompted the township to creating a second community garden in the Village of Roebling.

Placing the Village of Roebling Gardens on a larger parcel has allowed for several garden plots to be created.  This plot located on Hornberger Avenue boast 36 garden plots, of which all were filled in its first planting season of 2022.  Each garden area contains a water spigot for the convenience of our local gardeners and once the growing period has begun its filled with bright colors of tomatoes, peppers, flowers and beds of wild strawberries among other items.

We invite those interested in taking on a garden plot to submit a form to the Florence Township Clerks Office and as garden plots become available, we will contain you with more information.
