Water & Sewer FAQ
All the drinking water for Florence Township is pumped from six wells located near the municipal building. The wells pump from the Potomac-Raritan-Magothy (PRM) aquifer system at depths of 100-140 feet. The water is pumped to the treatment plant on 6th and Summer Streets and then into the system for use.
Fluoride is not added to the water and tests show it is not present naturally.
You must contact the office at 499-2518 before filling the pool. The credit is only good for pool filling and can only be received once per year.
You must contact the office at 499-2518 two weeks prior to the final closing date.
If you have discolored water during flushing, open all faucets in your home until the water runs clear. In some cases, you may have to flush your hot water heater.
In Florence township the resident is responsible for their service line to the main.
If you have an estimated bill that means we were unable to get a reading. Call the Water and Sewer Department at 499-2518, and schedule for someone to come out and look at your meter. Remember if you use more than 12,000 gallons per quarter although your bill may be estimated, you will be charged for all water consumed.
