In August 2022, the Florence Township Mayor and Council secured the assistance of the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC), the Greater Philadelphia region’s federally designated metropolitan planning organization, to prepare a market study (Study) for the former Roebling Steel Mill Site (Site). The purpose of the Study was to enhance the Township’s understanding of the market potential for the Site thereby providing invaluable insights for pursuing the Site’s redevelopment.
Andrew Svekia led the DVRPC team in undertaking the Study. After holding numerous virtual meetings, examining volumes of data, and reviewing several iterations of draft documents, the Roebling Steel Site, Market Conditions and Analysis was completed in June 2023. In addition to this document, DVRPC prepared the Roebling Steel Site Reuse Project, Waterfront Redevelopment Case Studies, which enhances the understanding of how waterfront properties have been redeveloped. Additional documents are provided below for public review.
Representatives from the DVRPC will be at the September 20th Council meeting to highlight the Study.
The Florence Township Mayor and Council greatly appreciate DVRPC’s help in preparing the Study and the additional document.
