Patrol Division as in any police agency is the backbone of our service. Officers assigned to Patrol Division respond to dispatched calls through the 911 system and through our Burlington County Central Communications Police Dispatch where they direct their patrol efforts at reducing the incidents of disorder and crime. The Patrol Division is supervised by the Operations Bureau Captain and is comprised of four Squads consisting of Officers and a assigned Sergeant in each squad.  Also assigned to the Patrol Division are two Special Law Enforcement Officers who assist with Court duties, patrol and Administrative assignments. Additional Officers are added to high call volume times for assistance and proactive patrol duties. These officers provide round the clock police service to the residents of Florence Township in a committed and effective manner.

The Patrol Division responds to all calls for service – criminal complaints (both in progress and past tense), motor vehicle collisions, medical emergencies, fire calls, quality of life/neighborhood issues and reports of suspicious activity. The Patrol Division also enforces motor vehicle violations, conducts foot patrol and community policing details. Patrol Officers conduct preventative patrols, secure crime scenes, conduct both minor and major investigations, apprehend suspects at in progress crimes, investigate motor vehicle collisions, provide traffic control, render emergency aid to the injured and sick, and investigate suspicious activities.
