Today Florence Township resident, Don Cammus was honored at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Annual Symposium for his efforts in volunteering to support the townships recycling program during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Communities throughout the state were challenged by recycling collection delays due to the effects of illness as well as driver shortages. During this time, Mr. Cammus and others took to the streets of the community, transporting filled recycling toters from the curb and emptied at the township recycling center repeating daily for the duration of the delays.
Florence Township then assisted the County by delivering recyclables directly to the collection center.
Cammus and his wife Ann also collect trash and recycling during their daily morning walks thru the community. We appreciate these efforts and thank Don Cammus for being a vital component in supporting events and activities in Florence Township.
