As the weather continues to improve many residents begin yard clean ups in preparation for picnics, gatherings and to enjoy the outdoors. Here are a few helpful tips as you look to discard items have accumulated during the winter months:

  1. Before you place brush, branches, leaves or grass clippings to the curb: We currently circulate through the township collecting branches, brush and leaves. We ask that you create separate piles for each. Different equipment is used to collect these items and mixed piles may cause damage, especially to the leaf truck. GRASS CLIPPINGS are NOT to be mixed with leaves and brush. Grass clippings are actually included with your trash. (Please be mindful not to place items in the street where debris may obstruct water run-off and block storm drains).
  2. Large Tree Projects: If you hire a tree company to perform work at your property, they must NOT place the piles of branches or cut trunks of the tree curbside. This is a commercial project and they will need to remove the remnants from their job upon completion.
  3. Discarding large items curbside: Recently there have been reports of couches or bulk trash being placed on the islands or near the park in the Village of Roebling. We understand that there is limited space in the alleys to place these items, but please do not set these items on the islands or in the park. This prevents islands from being cut effectively and leaves a poor appearance along the street. If you are in an area where it is difficult to find an appropriate place to set a large item, please contact our public works department and we are happy to provide some options/suggestions that may be of assistance. (609)-499-2444
  4. Recycling Center: The Florence Township Recycling Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 11am to 5pm. Saturdays our hours are from 9am to 3pm. Our recycling center accepts a variety of products that may be discarded as recycling. We are NOT approved to accept trash. Please check our website to review our recyclables, visit the recycling enter where information is listed on the fence or ask on of the members of our recycling center team for more information. You may also contact our municipal office with any questions (609)-499-2525.
