  1. CONFIRMED CASES OF COVID-19 VIRUS IN THE TOWNSHIP:
    As of July 9, 2021 the Burlington County Department of Health has reported One Thousand Forty-Three (1,043) confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus in Florence Township. Unfortunately, eighteen (18) residents have passed away. COVID-19 Testing: Every Wednesday until further notice, Florence Township will be hosting a Burlington County Health Department walk-up Covid-19 testing site at the Old Public Works building on Summer Street (next to the Little League baseball field). Hours for the testing are 9am -1pm. No registration is required.
  2. Recycling: The Recycling Center will be closed on Saturday, July 10, 2021.
    Effective Wednesday, June 9th the recycling center has added extra hours which are 4pm to 8pm every Wednesday until the regular recycling collection schedule resumes. Our recycling center hours of operation are as follows:Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 11am to 5pm
    Wednesdays: 4pm-8pm
    Saturday from 9am to 3pmIf you do have overflow recyclables, consider using our local municipal recycling dropoff. For questions, contact the recycling hotline at 609-267-6889 or email recycling@otcbc.org
    Recycle Coach: is an address-based app that can be downloaded from the iTunes or GooglePlay app store. The app offers information about Burlington County’s recycling program specifically for your area. With the click of a button, you can access your schedule, events, and accepted recyclable materials. Set alerts and reminders so you never miss your recycling day, receive instant updates on recycling events, and enjoy exporting calendar options directly to your device!
  3. Patriotic Day Celebration – July 10, 2021:
    Flag Raising – 11am 5th & Oak Streets
    Parade – 12pm, Parade route through Village of Roebling
    Concert, Food & Fireworks – 5pm – 9:30pm, fields behind Municipal Building
  4. Congratulations to 2014 Florence Township Memorial High School Graduate Curtis Thompson on making the Olympic Team!! The summer Olympics will begin on July 23, 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.
  5. Burlington County has contracted with CGP&H to administer an Emergency Mortgage and Utility Assistance Program. The total funding cap per family will be a maximum of 6 months of assistance, with no dollar cap! Assistance is available for mortgage assistance, utility assistance, or a combination of the two. If you are in need of rental assistance, please use the following link to access the State of New Jersey assistance program: https://njdca.onlinepha.com
  6. If home owners are claiming damages from the power surge on Sunday, June 6, 2021, in the Olive Street area, please contact the PSE&G call center to report any claims for investigation 1-800-436-7734 (customer service).
  7. The Township Council meetings will be open to the public; however, we are encouraging residents to continue attending the meeting virtually. Masks must be worn if you attend inperson. These meetings will start at 7:00 p.m. Instructions for virtual attendance can be found on the Township’s Home Page website www.florence-nj.gov or by calling the Clerk’s Office at 609-499-2525 Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  8. Zoning & Planning Board meetings will be open to the public; however, we are encouraging residents to continue to attend the meetings virtually. Masks must be worn if you attend the meeting in-person.
  9. Municipal Offices: The Municipal Building is open to the public. We encourage the public to continue to use the drop box located inside the front entrance to the Municipal Building. Masks must be worn while inside the Municipal Building. Residents will not be allowed inside the office areas. If you prefer not to visit the Municipal Building in person, please contact the respective office by telephone or e-mail if you require assistance. Normal office hours are 9am – 4:30pm.
  10. Tax & Water/Sewer Bills: Residents who receive the New Jersey Senior Freeze Property Tax Reimbursement Application (2020 Form PTR-2) only need to drop off the application pages and not the entire book. Payments can be made online www.florence-nj.gov The Drop Box is available next to the trophy case in our front lobby and will be checked multiple times daily for your convenience. Payments must be check or money orders, NO CASH. Please provide a phone number with your payment and we will call to confirm payment was received. Please allow 48 hours for your payment to be posted to our online account portal. Feel free to call the office with any questions, 609-499-2525. The office hours are 9am – 4:30pm. Any documents left in the drop box will be processed and mailed back to residents as needed. The Drop Box is available 24/7 for resident’s convenience.
  11. Construction Office: The office hours are 9am – 4:30pm. We encourage residents and developers to continue to use the drop box located inside the front entrance to the Municipal Building. Any questions, please call the Construction Office at (609) 499-2130. 12.
  12. Police Department: The police lobby window will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 8am -4:30pm, Wednesday 8am – 8pm and Saturday 8am -1pm. If you require police assistance, please use the yellow call box located by the Municipal Building Main Lobby doors. When using the call box, please state your business to the call taker. A police officer will subsequently be dispatched to handle your matter. Please see Police Department web-site on how to obtain Police Reports, Handicap Placards or call (609) 499-3131.Upcoming Events:
    1. Bike Rodeo – July 17th (10:00 am to 1:00 pm) in the rear parking lot of the municipal building.
  13. Boat Ramp Permits: Boat Ramp permits will be required in 2021. Permits can be obtained at the police window during the following times: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday between 12:30pm – 4:00pm, Wednesday 12:30pm – 8:00pm and Saturday 8:00am – 1:00pm. If you obtained a boat ramp permit in 2020, you will receive credit for 2021, your 2020 decal will be valid.
  14. Municipal Court: We encourage individuals paying tickets and/or fines to continue to pay on-line or use the drop box located inside the front entrance to the Municipal Building. Please contact the Court Office at (609) 499-2222 if you have any questions. The office hours are 9am– 4:30pm Monday – Friday.
  15. Special Council Meeting: July 21, 2021 at 7pm will include Ordinance to prohibit the sale of Cannabis (Marijuana) at this time until the State provides rules and regulations. Council will also be reviewing prohibition of trucks on Delaware Ave and Front Street from Route 130 to Burlington Township border.
  16. Regular Council Meeting on August 4th at 7pm will include a Public Hearing on the Route 130 Plan Endorsement Draft Self-Assessment Report.
