Beginning this week, twice per week trash collection will resume for all neighborhoods in the community. This program runs from April until the end of October.

Please Note: At times there is confusion with BULK RECYCLING COLLECTION. Several times during the year our office receives calls requesting BULK PICKUP of large items such as couches, dining room tables, mattresses, or other larger household items. If these items are not recyclable, they are to be placed curbside for regular trash collection. In an effort not to overwhelm collection services, we ask our residents to place manageable amounts at a time curbside. If a larger item is able to be broken down to smaller pieces, that is not only safer for you to move curbside but also is of help to collection crews. Large trash items may also be taken to the county landfill.

If you have BULK recycling, please contact the Florence Township Clerks Department and provide the item(s) to confirm they are eligible to be recycled and to receive further instructions regarding collection. At times residents will post on social media promoting items curbside to be collected (i.e. washing machines, hot water heaters, etc.) When collected by the township these recyclables are added to the overall tonnage of recyclables collected by the municipality and support the annual recycling tonnage grant provided to the township, which supports the purchase of new recycling carts, offsets cost of the township recycling center and provides other materials and services that benefit our community. When you have recycling, please contact the township office for collection at 609-499-2525.

Additionally, our public works department is not permitted to enter homes to remove items for trash or recycling pick up. Any and all items to be discarded must be removed and placed curbside for collection.

Thank you
